| dc.description.abstract | En septiembre de 2011 se conmemoraron los diez años del ataque a las Torres Gemelas del World Trade Center. Este episodio es uno de los hitos históricos más representativos de la contemporaneidad. Sin embargo, la destrucción material ocasionada fue superada con creces por la potencia implícita en la destrucción simbólica, causando especulaciones explicativas que están, legítimamente, cargadas de aspectos ideológicos y mitológicos. Tales explicaciones van, desde el negacionismo de las “demostraciones” de que el ataque no fue externo, pasando por el simplismo del choque entre culturas, hasta el favorecimiento y la celebración de estos hechos como si fueran un merecido castigo al Imperio. Justamente por todo lo anterior, se hace necesario reflexionar sobre estos hechos en procura de explicaciones diferentes, inspiradas, en este caso, en la serenidad de pensadores como Derrida y Baudrillard. | en_ES |

| dc.description.abstracteng | In September 2011, the commemoration of the tenth anniversary of attack on the Twin Towers of World Trade Center took place. No doubt this episode is one of the most representative historical landmarks of contemporarytimes. However, the physical destruction that it occasioned was, by far, outweighed by the power implicit in the symbolic destruction, causing explanatory speculations that are legitimately filled with ideological and mythological features. Such explanations range from the disavowal of the “proofs” that the attack was not external, through the simplification of the crash between cultures, to the favoring and commemorating these events as if they were a deserved punishment to the Empire. Precisely for all of the above, it is necessary to reflect upon them in pursuit of different explanations, inspired in this case by the serenity of thinkers such as Derrida and Baudrillard. | en_ES |
