dc.description.abstracteng | For the sociologist Donati (2003), the modern family acquires different semantic definitions according to the social situation and the perspective from which it is observed, so the author understands that the family institution, as a particular type of social praxis, has its own substance that, basically consists in that it is a full social relationship; that means it is, a total social fact, founded on full reciprocity betweengenders and generations and identified by the symbolic love code. On the other hand, the sociologist Giddens (1992), insists that family lifeis no longergrounded on the prerogatives of romantic love and proposes a new version of the affective bond, called “confluent love”, this way of relating suggest a relationship more symmetricallove, thus creating a more democratic familymodel. With confluent love there is a “transformation of intimacy” and what the author calls a “pure relationship” appears, that from romantic ideals, the love relationship existsonly for the rewards that it can provide itself, thus moving away from external criteria and pressures | en_ES |
