The reading of Watching and Punishing, Origin of prison, of Michel Foucault, allows a new approximation to Charles Baudelaire and Arthur Rimbaoud’s poe-try, as far as it makes it possible to recognize in art, so much as a sedimentation of the epoch, as an autonomous vital expression, critical inclusive of the epoch in which it arises. The darned poets, in this case Bauldelaire and Rimbaud, represent a violent rupture with the morale, an irreverence with progress and a repellence with the nineteenth burgess. Their works are a ̈painting ̈ that affirms and negates the modern epoch. Their poetry is also a scientific thought that elevates evil to the category of esthetic dimension and that as such it will remain in the west. This way we can propose for sure that; the work of the dam-ned over pours the morale and costumes of the XIX century. Their works make their way trough an intricate path which brings conditions and changes such as the frenetic urbanism, the vertiginous growth of the industry, the eclosion of the masses and the new technologies of the disciplinary power. In second instance, we make a comparative analysis of the book Sexuality’s History, vol. 1, of the same author, in order to say that the literature, in this case poetry, is also an confessional act, even if it wants seem profane |
