Abstract:
Este artículo es el resultado de la investigación orientada a indagar sobre las representaciones que manejan mujeres lideresas, habitantes de la zona urbana del municipio de Medellín, Comuna 4, con respecto a la participación política de la mujer en diferentes escenarios comuni-tarios, sociales y políticos construidos a partir de su propia experiencia de gestión comunitaria y ejercicio de sus derechos ciudadanos. Se des-cribe su experiencia en relación a su derecho de votar y ser elegidas, a su identificación como ciudadanas, sujetas de derechos y deberes, a su salida del ámbito exclusivamente privado del hogar, hacia la inte-racción con las demás personas y la posibilitación de espacios de en-cuentro para la discusión sobre la situación actual de las mujeres en la Comuna y la ciudad. Se utilizó un enfoque cualitativo, nivel descriptivo y método fenomenológico, se aplicó una entrevista a profundidad a 11 mujeres destacadas en su labor de participación política a nivel de co-muna y la cuidad y se identificaron las categorías emergentes como participación social y comunitaria de las mujeres, liderazgo de las mu-jeres, participación ciudadana y participación e incidencia política de las mujeres. En los resultados se observa un aspecto muy significativo en la noción del concepto de liderazgo como un continuo de partici-pación desde lo social y comunitario hasta su incidencia política, lo cual les ha hecho ganar el reconocimiento frente a la comunidad como agentes de cambio social.
