dc.description.abstracteng | The paper presents the results of study related to labor competences in the tourism industry. In the deepening of the results, there is an interest in characterizing the socio-emotional competences of food service workers in hotels (N = 99) in terms of possible differences between women and men, and thereby discerning development strategies for these professionals. The quantitative study approach is used through the application of a validated questionary for the construct socioemotional skills in adults ICSE (Mikulic, Crespi, Radusky, 2015,the statistical package IBM SPSS V 22.0 for the processing of data, discriminant analysis techniques and the backward selection method. The results show that in the analysis of the validity of the content of the applied instrument, a 75% agreement was reached regarding the relevance and representativeness of the item in the dimension. It is verified that women and men mark differentiation in the expression of the nine socio-emotional competences declared by the instrument, standing out in this sense self-efficacy and optimismfor the representativeness of variables in the respective dimensions. There is agreement with the studies conducted by Bar-On, Brown, Kirkcaldy and Thome (2000) and Pérez-Pérez and Castejón (2005) with respect to the behavior of regulation and emotional expression of women in relation to men. It can be concluded that women show more attention to emotions and men are more concerned with clarifying, repairing and regulating their emotions. | en_ES |
