| spa |

dc.description.abstracteng | From its origins, techno culture has been linked not only to music, but also to a social phenomenon of synthetic drug use, which has permeated the scene by allowing the raver to take his experience to heightened levels of consciousness, increasing the bodily sensations and connection with this musical genre. The purpose of this research was to describe, characterize and analyze the perceptions about the practices, lifestyles and beliefs about the consumption of psychoactive substances in young people belonging to the techno culture in Valle de Aburrá. A phenomenological qualitative study was carried out, based on the Health Beliefs Model, the sample was composed of 12 subjects between 18 and 30 years of age, who were given semi-structured interviews. The results suggest a structural relationship between the consumption of synthetic drugs and techno music parties. According to the participants' account, this relationship is based on the possibility of increasing the physical and mental sensations, as well as the physical resistance to fully enjoy the party, which has been normalized by those who belong to this culture. Regarding health beliefs, little susceptibility and perceived severity were found in the face of overdose and addiction and as a self-care strategy the main one was to trust the group with which they attend the party. | spa |
