dc.description.abstract | Inversiones Arango Tamayo S.A.S. – INVATAM – empresa familiar colombiana, ubicada en Antioquia, creada por el señor Luís Alfredo Arango Betancur, quien en compañía de su familia ejercía el oficio de curtir cueros para transformarlos en materia prima para el sector marroquinero como una labor artesanal, legó su conocimiento a sus hijos quienes continuaron con el oficio y en octubre de 1981 la constituyen como empresa. Desde sus inicios su planeación y desarrollo han estado enfocados en invertir en el crecimiento de la empresa y generación de empleo dando cumplimiento a las normas legales, ambientales y comerciales colombianas. El caso plantea la decisión que debe tomarse desde el gobierno corporativo de la empresa para elegir el sucesor y establecer como se ejecutará el relevo generacional con el fin de que la empresa continúe siendo dirigida por integrantes de la familia que garanticen la continuidad y sostenibilidad, o, por el contrario, definir si se hace necesario optar por profesionales externos con experiencia y formación que proyecten el crecimiento y expansión de la misma. La empresa tiene cobertura nacional y opera bajo demanda de pedidos, no es exportadora, cuenta con planta e infraestructura propia y ha realizado inversión en tecnología y personal calificado, sus proceso se enfocan en la producción más limpia, acorde con el cuidado del ambiente, por tanto, el relevo generacional es un reto tanto para la generación que la dirige en el momento como para quienes los sucederán, deberán adquirir el conocimiento del negocio para proyectarlo, sostenerlo y modernizarlo ATENCIÓN.
