The changes in consumer behavior have been notable, but these thoughts have not been enough to carry out change actions that really impact and lead to a difference reflected in national or international statistics. As for industries, the panorama is different, since they have stopped the overexploitation of resources, making the most of both the raw materials and the waste that remain after their production process, reducing costs since they stop buying. the same percentage of inputs, however and going back to the beginning, these redesign efforts in process by the industries have not necessarily been significant in changing the actions of the final consumer. To exemplify the above, in a study reported by the AMA (American Marketing Association), headed by researcher Ottman (2019), it was evident that North American consumers, without discriminating in generational terms, use green products but with a behavioral pattern ingrained spendthrift that is difficult to change with persuasion strategies, where 87% of these consumers are concerned about environmental sustainability, but actually 33% of that 87% actually show intentions to purchase green products.
