dc.description.abstract	El presente artículo es un análisis de la novela Muy Caribe está, del escritor antioqueño Mario Escobar Velásquez (1928-2007). El trabajo parte de la hipótesis según la cual el escritor hace un balance de la imagen del indio Caribe y el español conquistador, para destacar en ambos bandos al hombre de carne y hueso que en sus logros y sus excesos se vio enfrentado en las primeras décadas del siglo XVI en la región del Caribe colombiano. Es, a su vez, una reivindicación de la condición humana frente al dolor, el sufrimiento y las ansias de poder y riqueza que se dieron en el encuentro de las dos culturas. Se busca además establecer un diálogo entre la novela y algunas fuentes documentadas de los Cronistas de Indias, de modo que esto permita una visión más humana del relato ficcional con relación a la ofrecida por la historia oficial.	en_ES

dc.description.abstracteng	This article is an analysis of the novel Muy caribe está, by writer Mario Escobar Velasquez from Antioquia (1928-2007). The work starts off the hypothesis according to which the writer makes a balance of the image of the Caribbean Indian and Spanish conquistador, to highlight in both sides the man of flesh and blood that in his accomplishments and his excesses he was confronted in the early decades of the Sixteenth Century in the Colombian Caribbean region. It is, in turn, a vindication of the human that confronts pain, suffering and the desire for power and wealth that occurred at the encounter of the two cultures. It also seeks to establish a dialogue between the novel and some documented sources of the Chroniclers of the Indies, in order to allow a more humane vision of fictional narrative in relation to that offered by the official story.	en_ES
