Abstract:
El objetivo de este estudio fue evaluar los síntomas de depresión en docentes de colegios públicos del municipio de Envigado (Colombia) y su asociación con el síndrome de burnout y las condiciones socio laborales. Participaron un total de 194 docentes, seleccionados mediante un muestreo probabilístico estratificado proporcionado. Se usaron los instrumentos SCL-90-R para evaluar los síntomas de depresión, el cuestionario Maslach para Burnout y una encuesta sociodemográfica. Los resultados muestran que 65,8 % de los docentes presentan síntomas de depresión, y en el modelo multivariado se identificó que la dimensión del síndrome de burnout agotamiento emocional incrementa los síntomas de depresión en los docentes (OR=4,0, IC=1,67-9,58). El estudio concluye que la depresión es de alta prevalencia en la población docente.
